Help run this weekly club for babies, children and their carers…

What is the role: Stay and Play Volunteer – volunteer at our weekly drop in sessions for carers and their young children and babies

Who is the role for: South Oxford Family Room (SOFR)

When does the volunteering take place: Monday morning 9:15 – 12 and Friday afternoon 12:45 – 3pm

Where does the volunteering take place: South Oxford Family Room, 47 Whitehouse Road, Oxford, OX1 4QH

What is involved: Setting up play activities and art / craft activities for young children age 0-3, welcoming new carers and children to the session, setting up snack time, leading story and song time (optional), encouraging all to help with tidying up

Why you should sign up:

If you enjoy meeting new people, interacting with babies and young children and want to help keep this essential community resource going then this is the role for you.

In the funding cuts to Children’s Centres South Oxford Family Room lost all of it’s funding and staff.

We are hoping to keep SOFR going as a community led initiative and rely largely on volunteers.

References are required for this role, however as you are not on your own with children, a DBS check is not needed. You will be offered an induction as a volunteer so that you know where everything is, what to expect and to answer any questions you may have.
