Helen and Douglas House are looking for volunteers to join the housekeeping team. If you like working as part of a team and enjoy meeting people then this could be an opportunity for you.
What the role involves: The housekeeping team are central to maintaining the cleanliness of all communal areas of the hospice. They work together to ensure that patients, their families and staff enter an environment that is clean and welcoming. Everyone appreciates coming into a clean home and you could be part of ensuring that the Hospice is somewhere that guests and staff can enjoy.
Requirements for the role: You will be required to have a DBS check and references. Once you have applied for the role you will be invited in for an informal chat to explore your suitability for the role. Following this there will be induction day and some online training to help prepare you for volunteering in this environment. Due to the level of training required, we do ask for a commitment of at least a year and a weekly commitment of 3 – 4 hours.
Helen and Douglas House will cover your travel expenses and you can have lunch from the House if you are here for the day.
