Who is the role for: Henley Women’s Regatta
When does the volunteering take place: As we are an annual Event run and managed by volunteers we have three levels of activity each year. Things get busy for people at slightly different times within the year.
Between Jan – Feb this post holder has very little or no tasks to complete.
Between – March- May this post holder will have a few hours a week.
June – this post holder will complete the majority of his/her volunteering
June – This post holder would have to be available for key hours at the event itself (2017 dates are 16,17,18 June).
Sept – the post holder may have to complete a small amount of volunteering
The other months of the year the post holder may be asked to communicate information or keep in touch with the committee.
Where does the volunteering take place: We have a virtual office but meet regularly in Henley at various locations. The post holder will normally complete the task from home but should live a comfortable distance from Henley or within Henley. During the Event the post holder would be expected to cover approx. 5/6 hours on each of the 3 days.
Who does the volunteering involve:
- Offering support to the HWR Treasurer with payments to suppliers. Both Cash and via online banking
- Making payments into the bank
- Holding joint responsibility for the cash floats during the 3 days of the regatta
The post holder needs to be confident with numbers and have a good eye for details. The post holder would need to have access to a computer with internet connection.

We believe we give an opportunity for women to participate in this regatta allowing skills to develop and form- making potential Olympic champions of the future. Our volunteers range from 16+ to 70+ (both Men & Women)
An active, diligent person who is confident with figures and likes meeting people would suit this role. This role operates with all the organising groups that make up HWR and work year round to deliver this regatta. The post holder would receive training from the Treasurer of HWR. Some understanding of hand held credit card machines is desirable but not essential as training will be given. Ability to work with cash floats and make payments into a bank essential.
