Who is the role for: Cancer Research, Race for Life
This is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. You can choose from a 5K, 10K or Pretty Muddy obstacle event to walk, jog or run.
When does the volunteering take place: 9th July and 16th September
Where does the volunteering take place: University Parks, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3RF
What is involved:
- General volunteer – From pitching flags and hanging banners to handing out water and medals; you definitely won’t be twiddling your thumbs!
- Course marshal – Cheer our runners, walkers and joggers and lift spirits along the way. You’ll be the extra oomph they need to cross the finish line!
- Enquiries volunteer – With the excitement of race day there’s bound to be questions! Help ease the nerves by supporting our runners and spectators with their queries.
Why you should sign up: This is your chance to volunteer at your local Cancer Research UK event, together with like-minded others to help beat Cancer. You” be helping 1000’s of ladies to do the Race for Life event and raise important money for lifesaving research into all 200 types of cancer.
Qualities needed: Hard working, team player, enthusiastic, passionate, professional and flexible with helping with whatever needs doing on the day.
This role does not require a DBS check or references. There will be an on the day briefing so you know exactly what you need to do. Expenses are paid to cover mileage within a 20 mile radius.
