Where does the volunteering take place: The Story Museum is a most unusual museum on Pembroke Street, just off St Aldates. We feature different interactive exhibitions for people to engage with stories including a giant bed, Narnia and our Animal exhibition. The building used to be the Post Office building and we still have many of the original features including the telephone exchange.
What the role involves: As an exhibition steward you will be greeting visitors, checking tickets, setting up the museum and helping bring the exhibits to life with enthusiasm and a passion for stories.
Why you should sign up: You will be joining a friendly team of volunteers and staff who are all working towards creating an environment for people to enjoy stories of all forms.
Skills required: We are looking for people who are friendly, enthusiastic and have a love of stories in all their forms – if this is you, please get in touch!
Please note that two references are required for this role, one of which must have been returned before volunteering can commence. You will receive training as part of your induction and then have the support of a buddy for your first session. On-site support is always available.
