What is the role: Poppy appeal collection organiser and volunteer poppy collectors
When does the volunteering take place: Mainly from October – November during the Remembrance period
Where does the volunteering take place: As a charity we are always looking for Poppy Appeal Organisers. The areas that need organisers are Stadhampton and Thame. You do not need to live in these areas to collect in them.
What the role involves: Raise vital funds for the Royal British Legion’s mission by organising and conducting the Poppy Appeal in your designated area, working in support and under the guidance of the local Community Fundraiser (CFR) and others appointed to assist.
Why you should sign up to this role: With the increasing military veteran population requiring support from the Royal British Legion, volunteers are needed more and more to help veterans live as independently as possible, safe in the knowledge that there is support 24/7. By becoming a Poppy Appeal Volunteer organising the Poppy Appeal and other fundraising events locally you show that you care for the future of service personnel and their families to: “Live on in memory of the Fallen and the future of the Living”
Skills required for this role:
In general, for the role of Poppy collectors we are looking for individuals who are reliable and trustworthy.
