Can you make a good cuppa? Do you have a friendly smile? Enjoy working as part of a small team? How about this role…

What is the role: Helping on the coffee bar and welcome desk coffee-blue-mug-and-blue-plate-spoon-side

Who is the role for: North Oxford Association Community Centre

When does the role take place: We need someone from 4 – 5:30pm during weekdays. Volunteers can do one or more days.

Where does the volunteering take place: NOA, Diamond Place, Summertown

What the role involves: You will be working alongside another volunteer to serve tea and coffee from a small coffee bar (hatch) to members of the public (mainly those waiting for children who are in classes in the centre). You will also help to answer enquiries on the Welcome Desk. At the end of each volunteering session you will have responsibility for locking the coffee bar and putting money away.

Why volunteers should sign up to this role:

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a customer facing environment (serving teas and coffees, taking payment, dealing with general enquiries, taking messages). You will have the change to meet lots of people and so it will help you to feel part of the community. NOA is a friendly supportive place to work.

Skills required for this role: The most important skills for this role is a friendly manner and a responsible attitude as you will be locking up and storing money after each session. We are also looking for volunteers with good communication skills who can work well as part of a team and can think on their feet to solve problems.
