What are the roles: The Fire Service are looking to recruit volunteers to fill the roles of:

  • Junior Citizens Support Volunteers: these are people who inspire school children to think and act safely by helping to deliver interactive workshops to school groups who visit The Safety Centre on Rewley Road, Oxford, OX1 2EH.

  • Community Safety Volunteers: these volunteers work with the Fire Service to visit vulnerable residents in their homes and fit smoke detectors, as well as giving general health and safety advice.

  • Child Pedestrian Safety volunteers: these volunteers help to deliver child pedestrian safety training to parents of children who are aged 5 – 7 years old. This critical role will help to reduce the number of children who are injured or killed in road traffic accidents. These sessions are delivered in primary schools across Oxfordshire.

When:  You can arrange to sign up to deliver training sessions at times that are convenient to you, in agreement with the Fire and Rescue Service.
