Kitchen support workers needed to help assist students as they learn to cook up a storm!

What is the role: Kitchen Support Workers          trax

Who for:  Trax

When: Anytime that suits you from Monday – Thursday; 9:15am – 3pm

Where:  Trax, Red Barn Farm Cottage, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 8JR

What is involved: You will be supporting the chef in the kitchen to deliver training to young people and to prepare a daily lunch at Trax which everyone is able to enjoy together.

Why you should sign up: The young people are disadvantaged and don’t fit into conventional schooling. They have failed over and over again. Trax helps them succeed, gain independence, self-belief and a route to employment. You really can make a difference! You form relationships with them and support them finding their own way.

Skills required: You do not need to have previous experience of working in a catering environment. What is essential, is an ability to work as a team, to respond quickly and be able to listen to the needs of young people. It is a hugely rewarding role.

Support available:

  • Travel expenses can be claimed for up to £5 a day
  • All volunteers are provided with training
