Do you like cars? Do you have a patient personality and enjoy learning new skills?

What is the role: Supporter in the Mechanics Workshop         trax

Who for:  Trax

When: Anytime that suits you from Monday – Friday; 9:15am – 3pm

Where:  Trax, Red Barn Farm Cottage, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 8JR

What is involved: You will be supporting the delivery of mechanical qualifications to young people aged 13 – 19 in the Workshop environment.

Why you should sign up: The young people are disadvantaged and don’t fit into conventional schooling. They have failed over and over again. Trax helps them succeed, gain independence, self-belief and a route to employment. You really can make a difference! You form relationships with them and support them finding their own way.

Skills required: Experience working on motorbikes or cars would be really useful but not essential. Experience working with young people is also beneficial but most important is an understanding of the issues young people face and a willingness to learn.

Support available:

  • Travel expenses can be claimed for up to £5 a day
  • All volunteers are provided with training

Due to the nature of this role a DBS check is required.
