What is the role: Rainbow House Helpers – helpers needed in the kitchen, to support children and adults, with serving food and clearing tables
Who for: Rainbow House which is a café for parents and their children under the age of 5
When: – 9:30am – 2:30pm on Thursday’s and Friday’s during term time. There is a particular need for afternoon volunteers at the moment.
Where: Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford
What is involved: As a Rainbow House helper you will be working alongside a team of volunteers to help prepare simple lunches, serve food and drinks, support parents with their children and help clear up the venue at the end of each café session. The tasks you do are flexible, depending on your area of interest.
Why you should sign up: We promise fun! This is a really sociable volunteering role in a relaxed environment where friendships are easily made – everyone is welcome and we would love you to join us! The project has been established for over 30 years. Don’t worry if English is not your first language. This can be a really good opportunity to practise your conversation skills.
Skills required: No particular skills are required, just a willingness to be part of a team and a flexible approach to helping out with different tasks. We would of course love to hear from anyone with kitchen experience who can really help us to make some delicious food in the kitchen.
Support available: We work closely as a team so there will people on hand to help you.
- Expenses are paid to cover a bus fare so long as a ticket is provided
- You are provided with training for the role you are doing
References are required for this role. A DBS check is not required.
