When: Volunteers are needed for slots Monday – Friday, 9am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm
Where: Helen and Douglas House, Magdalen Road, Oxford, OX4 1RW
What is involved: As a volunteer receptionist you will work alongside a partner to greet visitors, issue visitor badges, answer the phones, receive parcels etc. It is a role perfect for anyone who enjoys multi-tasking.
Why you should sign up: Helen and Douglas House is a hospice specifically for children and young people. By volunteering as a receptionist you will gain administrative experience whilst working as part of a very friendly and supportive team. Volunteers are invited to regular quiz evenings to get to know the staff, other volunteers and patients and you really will feel part of a family.
Skills required: All training provided for this role so no experience of reception work is required. This role would ideally suit someone who enjoys moving between different tasks and meeting new people.
Support provided: You will be supported throughout this role. You will receive a day long induction to the charity, plus role specific training at a time convenient to you. You will always work alongside someone on reception, and be supported by the Volunteer Co-ordinator.
Travel expenses are paid.
