What is the role: Befriender Volunteer may-day

Who for: May Day Trust

When: Volunteers are required for 16 hours a week or 4 hours a week during evenings and weekends.

Where: Across Oxfordshire working with people in the community

What is involved: As a befriender you will support individuals going through tough times to meet their ambitions and passions. Your time will be very varied – one day you might be organising a beginner’s DJ mixing session, the next, supporting an individual working with horses in the local riding school or giving computer coding a whirl.

Skills required: We are looking for people to help individuals rediscover their spark and passion for life. Empathy and excellent communication skills are important. You need real life experience and an ambition and passion for working with people.

Support provided: Training is provided and expenses are covered.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to complete a DBS check and provide references.
