What is the role: Wellbeing Service Volunteer
Who for: Oxfordshire Mind
When: MIND ask for a commitment of 1 session a week (4 – 8 hours) and that you remain with the project for at least 3 months
Where: Wellbeing groups are run in locations throughout Oxford
What is involved: This role involves supporting the MIND staff to deliver support sessions to individuals with mental health needs. The roles available in running these sessions are varied but include:
- Helping to promote the service by displaying promotional material
- Setting up the materials needed for each session and helping with clearing away
- Welcoming people to the service and helping to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
- Spending time talking to people in distress
- Assisting with activities e.g. cooking, music, reading etc. depending on your interests

Support provided: All volunteers will attend 2 training days – one as an induction to Mind and the other specific to this role. You will be required to provide 2 references and complete a DBS check
