What is the role: Opportunities for assistants in the kitchen, café and shop
Who for: Talking Shop
When: You can volunteer for full or half day shifts on weekdays and Saturdays. Shifts run from 10:30am – 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 6:30pm, although shorter shifts are available
Where: Sandford-On-Thames (close to Littlemore and Rosehill and a bus ride from the city centre)
What is involved: The Talking Shop are looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen and as part of the front of house team and both roles are outlined below. There are opportunities to volunteer for both teams if you are really keen!
Kitchen assistants: work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen. You will be given full training and support to help prepare simple lunches, bake cakes and you can even help design the menu!
Front of house team: you will welcome customers so a friendly face and a beaming smile are a must. This varied role could involve taking orders in the café, selling goods in the shop, stocking shelves or designing window displays.

Support provided: All volunteers receive full training and ongoing support and a learning record if you are looking to develop particular skills or confidence. There are even opportunities to undertake accredited training courses e.g. in food hygiene, mental health and first aid
