Connect is a charity that works with people who have aphasia. Aphasia is a communication disability which usually occurs after stroke or brain injury. Working in partnership with people with aphasia, Connect runs services such as conversation groups, informal drop-in sessions and counselling.
Volunteer role: Communication Facilitator / Supporter
Responsible to: Drop-in facilitators with aphasia (and Morwenna Finn, Connect staff member)
Hours: First and third Tuesday of month, 14.00 – 16.30
Location: North Oxford Association Community Centre, Diamond Place, Summertown, Oxford OX2 7DP
Skills required
* Good communication skills and be able to take part in a conversation with a person with aphasia (training given).
