What is the purpose of the role?
For the past 8 Christmas’s we have partnered with Cards for Good Causes, and raised over £80,000 to support our work. We want this Christmas to be our most successful to date but we need you!
From Chester to Plymouth, we need volunteers who can give their time, for one morning or afternoon a week for four weeks between October and December, to help sell Christmas cards to the general public in designated outlets. You’ll be on the front line spreading Christmas cheer and raising money to help us continue our work supporting children, young people with cancer and their families.
What does it involve?
Being a welcoming face to the general public and representing CLIC Sargent
Operating a simple till (you will be fully trained in this)
Ensuring the cards are well presented and fully stocked throughout your shift
Helping the public to decide which Christmas card they’d like and generally providing good customer service
Working with the shop team to ensure the shop is a happy and atmospheric place to be for customers
What skills or experience do I need?
Good customer service skills
A good sense of humour and friendly manner
The ability to work with people from different backgrounds
A passion for CLIC Sargent’s work and the ability to speak about our work to others (you will be given all the information you need)
What can I expect from the role?
You’ll gain fundamental retail skills and experience
Full support from a CLIC Sargent member of staff and face to face support from the shop managers
The opportunity to develop your customer service skills
Working with a great team of people at an exciting time of the year
Availability
One morning or afternoon a week, for four weeks, between October and December
