Grove Day Centre for the Elderly is a charity which has been running for 27 years. We meet twice weekly on a Tuesday and Thursday in a purpose built centre. We provide day care and social activities for elderly people, along with a freshly cooked 2 course lunch.
We require a person to take control of the accounts for this small charity, annual turnover approximately £30-£35K. This voluntary role involves inputting payroll details for 5 members of staff onto the HMRC PAYE website to produce monthly payslips, raising cheques or bank payments as appropriate for these. Paying other ad-hoc bills by cheque. Maintaining monthly receipts and expenses spreadsheet for presentation at quarterly management committee meetings. Keeping records to back this up and arranging the annual independent examination of the accounts. It is estimated that the duties take around 7 hours per month.
Applicants should have relevant accounts experience and be able to furnish 2 recent job referees.
Out of pocket expenses will be paid.
Involvement in the life of the centre is encouraged and attendance at the quarterly management meetings at the centre in Grove important.
