Parkinson’s are looking for a Community Mapping Volunteer

We’re the Parkinson’s charity that drives better care, treatments and quality of life. Together we can bring forward the day when no one fears Parkinson’s.

We need a Community Mapping Volunteer, who will be home-based with some travel, for a one-off task lasting between 3 and 12 months. There’s also the opportunity to continue in a related role when the initial task is completed. You would need to be able to give at least 8 hours per month.

As part of a mapping team working with our Area Development Manager, you will research existing services in your local area relevant to people with Parkinson’s and/or their carers. These may include such things as exercise classes, therapeutic activities, befriending schemes or self- management sessions, provided by charities, the NHS or other organisations. You will record and share the details of the identified services, try them out where relevant and provide feedback.

An existing understanding of the needs of people affected by Parkinson’s would be useful, but we can give training in this if necessary; you need to be competent at keeping records and willing to travel (expenses paid) within Oxfordshire and Bucks.

Please contact Helen Old on for a discussion. I look forward to hearing from you!
