If you are a local farmer or forester or have other relevant rural and local business experience, why not consider joining your local LAG? Your contribution could make a real difference to the local rural economy, and we are currently looking for new members! Please feel free to call or e-mail us to get a better idea of what to expect.
A Local Action Group (LAG) is a team of volunteers who are actively involved in the rural economy or community. They work closely with their local LEADER team and are an invaluable asset helping to decide their LEADER area’s priorities as well as ensuring that the grant money is spent on the projects of greatest local priority.
The LAG members are farmers, foresters and people working for other rural organisations; however, each member attends the committee as an individual, not a representative.
As your local LEADER team now cover three separate LEADER areas (Chilterns, Clay Vales and North & West Northamptonshire), there are three separate corresponding LAGs, although they often work together.
LAG are especially keen to hear from young adults with experience in tourism, micro businesses or the food and drink sectors. If you are interested please contact them (not OCVA).
